Overview

How to uninstall VNC using fastpush. Please note that this doesn't remove any shortcuts from the start menu, but it does remove the service, the main VNC registry keys and the corresponding files. This program does not work on Windows 95, 98 or ME.

Requirements

A working installation of fastpush
Admin access to the remote machine in question

Steps

1. Command Shell

You'll need to be in a command shell window first off. If you've set a VNC path up, you can fire VNC.cmd off from anywhere - otherwise you'll need to change into the fastpush directory.

2. Switches

You can run the removal routine as: vnc (machinename) /uninstall or vnc (machinename) /remove. Either way will work and as before just use the computer's DNS or WINS name, don't include any backslashes ("\\").

3. Screen output

Just so you know what to expect, I've included a screen dump of the uninstallation routine:

Script will use the specified path of : "d:\fastpush"

Your command line option was to remove VNC from testpc.

VNC will be deleted from "\\testpc\C$\Program Files\Orl\VNC"
and the registry entries will also be deleted.
This script will not remove any shortcuts though.
