Firstly, a quick thanks to 'Anonymous' over jogging my memory about Roman's codepage tweak.

It seems that using the above command line will allow REG.EXE to pick up umlauts in the German Start Menu. Seeing as my German language skills are virtually zero, does anyone have any suggestions for detecting if Windows is installed for German users?

Thanks a lot for the workaround. A alternative would also be "graftabl 1252". I tried the two versions and they seem to work in the same way.
